A well-established Texas truck outfitter wanted to expand their business with a new eCommerce website to use for both B2C and B2B sales. We selected BigCommerce as the platform so the client can easily manage custom group discounts, and their API is very friendly to work with.
SearchAuto Accelerator Theme
We took a best in breed BigCommerce theme and perfected it for the automotive and motorsports industry by injecting our MMY Lookup App, and optimized the product page templates to showcase product specs to make shopping easier. Fitment Lookup
Of course, everything begins with selecting your vehicle. The SearchAuto Fitment Lookup is designed to filter products for a very specific vehicle, while still including other parts that may also be compatible. For instance, some lift kits will only fit a 4WD, Diesel, 4 Door, but the corresponding shocks and traction bars can fit any variation of that base Year, Make, and Model. Even by setting additional vehicle qualifiers, you’ll still see other compatible products that aren’t as specific as the complete kit.
Data Optimization
At first, this was a cut and dry project, but after importing data from SEMA, the fitment was multiple years out of date, even though it had been recently updated, and there were missing products. We implemented our new PIM to help supplement the missing data, setup rules to automatically map lift kits to custom categories, and optimize product titles. The integration works well with BigCommerce, and updating applications in the future will be easy, so Lifted 4×4 will have the latest applications available for sale as soon as they are released, without having to wait on another data source.
